The world of Cefiro is undeniably interesting, if not weird. There's a lot of people who are interested in it, hence making the following questions. If you can't find the answer to the question you seek, use the Request Form and I'll try to answer you in any way I can ^^

1. Is "Cefiro" like many other Rayearth names, a car name?
2. What is the Pillar system?
3. Why were Innova and Ascot able to use magic in the Forest of Silence?

   Yup, Cefiro is a car name. The name came from the Nissan Cefiro.

2. What is the Pillar system?

   The Pillar system is the driving force behind Cefiro. Without the Pillar, Cefiro would be nothing but a pile of dead rock. For those scientific minds, think of it as the inward gravitational pull and outward gaseous forces that keeps the planet together. Without the Pillar, Cefiro would crumble (which is the case of the second season), hence the Pillar is the most important person in Cefiro.

   The Pillar's task is to pray for Cefiro's well being, what the Pillar prays for will eventually become reality since in Cefiro, your Will and Determination is power and the Pillar is the one with the strongest Will and Determination. However, who will save guard the happiness of the Pillar? That is the flaw in this system, and also the reason behind all the misfortune of the series.

3. Why were Innova and Ascot able to use magic in the Forest of Silence?

   This is only the case in the Anime. In episode 3, the Knights came across a rock which was surrounded by growing monsters, the rock is the source of the monsters in the Forest of Silence and also the seal to magic. In order to get out of the forest, the Knights destroyed it with the help of Ferio, hence breaking the magic seal upon the forest.

4. Why do they call the Spring of Eterna a "2D Spring"?

   That's because the spring is basically a line. It's got no third dimension, making it look like a line from the side. The name "2D Spring" was given by Fuu, but Umi preferred the name "Weird Spring of Eterna".

5. What's Cefiro like, anybody got a map?

   Not really, unless you count the map of the SNES and Sega Saturn games in, there's really no map of Cefiro. However in episode 14, Mokona did show the Knights where they had traveled through, it showed them the cliffs where they met Clef, the Forest of Silence where they encountered Presia and Ferio, then the Spring of Eterna where they got their Escudo, next reaching the Sea Shrine where they awakened Seresu, then finally up to the high mountains where the Wind Temple awaits them. 6. The Mashin talked about a dimension of their own that had something to do with Cefiro, what were they talking about?

   They were talking about a dimension where they stay in when they were not called by the Knights. It's a dimension that "belongs to Cefiro but is not part of Cefiro" as Windam puts it. I guess it's kinda like a mirror world of Cefiro.

7. Where was Debonair's castle, didn't it looked just like the Cefiro Tower?

   Near the center of the void where once stood Cefiro, there was a wall that separated Cefiro from Debonair's domain. Debonair's castle stands inside, it was out of bounds before because of the wall, but in the final episode, the Knights broke through it. Yes, it does look terribly like Cefiro Tower itself, however, Debonair was created by the fear of the Cefiro people, so it kinda makes sense for it to look like Cefiro Tower.

8. They said for people from other countries to get to Cefiro, they need to use a "Path". What is this "Path"?

   A Path is like a portal that takes one object from one country to another country. Visually, they look like great pillars of light. The creator of a Path needs to have a strong will to maintain it, great enough to make them possible candidates to become Pillar in Cefiro. Although a Path could only be destroyed by its creator, once the creator of a Path no longer have enough mental strength to maintain a Path, it will slowly disappear. It is also very difficult for an object that doesn't belong to the Path to enter it.

9. I read the Manga and it said for people from other countries to get to Cefiro, they need to use a "Path", how come that wasn't the case in the Anime?

   One of the inconsistencies of the Manga and Anime. The only answer is they don't have them in the Anime, more than that, you need to ask CLAMP :P

10. Is Cefiro round or flat? In the art book it showed a picture of a flat crumbling Cefiro is that all it is?

    You mean the back cover of the Second Illustration Book right? If that's what you're talking about, that is around the most complete picture there is of Cefiro. From what I see, Cefiro is flat, but this was never talked about in the Manga nor TV series, so there's no definite answer :P

11. What are the three things that will open the Pillar Chamber?

    The three things aren't only used to open the Chamber, but also to bring those desired to the Chamber (since there's no stairs leading to that floor). The three things are Clef's Magic Ring, Lantis' Magic Sword and Zagato's Magic Plate.

13. You have spelled "Cephiro" wrong in almost every page. It is "Cephiro" in my comic books and mostly all the things I've seen in Rayearth!

    Well, you see, there's no real spelling for a word that's not English. What the English translations could come up with is a word that sounds like the Japanese original. Usually, this is done by romanizing the word, but if you did that directly, what you actually end up with is: "Sefuiiro", doesn't look very good does it? That's why people adopt the spelling "Cefiro" or "Cephiro" for it. They are pronounced the same way, hence satisfying what it was made for: to sound like the Japanese original but still be readable by non Japanese speakers.

    Yes, "Cephiro" is the "official" English translation that Media Blasters and Tokyopop (they released the Anime and Manga respectively) adopted but did you know that the word actually came from the Nissan Cefiro? Check out the list of car names the names in MKR came from and you'll know. Still not convinced? Go on any major search engine and look for "Nissan Cefiro", then search for "Nissan Cephiro" and see the difference you get. If you do it on Google, it even tells you it's "Nissan Cefiro" you're looking for ^_~

    So summing up, neither of us are wrong, we're just using different spellings of the same word (like how some people spell "meter" while others spell it "metre").
